Bioactive Peptide Fractions
Bioactive Peptide Fractions
Only very specific peptides are bioactive!
Collagile® horse consists of specific nutrifunctional peptide fractions, a highly purified extract of hydrolyzed, enzymatically cleaved collagen hydrolysate of animal origin. These peptides are enzymatically cleaved and further processed depending on the application – Human, Dog & Cat, Horse.
Due to the special manufacturing process, Collagile® horse contains only the highly bioavailable Bioactive Collagen Peptides and guarantees a consistent composition of the highest quality.
In this process, native collagen is purified by water extraction and broken down into its individual high-molecular components (proteins). These are cleaved into low-molecular building blocks (selected and specific Bioactive Collagen Peptides) by enzymatic cleavage. The end product is characterized by high bioavailability. This means that our Bioactive Collagen Peptides enter the bloodstream directly and are almost completely absorbed by the organism.

FAQ
Here are the answers to the most important questions
What are Bioactive Collagen Peptides?
What are Bioactive Collagen Peptides?
Bioactive collagen peptides are smaller sections of collagen, a high-molecular-weight protein molecule, and are obtained through enzymatic cleavage. Studies have shown that certain peptides can be absorbed undamaged into the body through the intestinal wall and accumulate in the joints.
They are referred to as bioactive because they reach the desired target site and can simultaneously support the body's own functions, meaning they are biologically active.
How does Collagile® dog differ from conventional collagen hydrolysates on offer?
How does Collagile® dog differ from conventional collagen hydrolysates on offer?
Collagile® dog differs significantly from conventional collagen hydrolysates.
The chosen manufacturing process is crucial for quality and biological value. The peptides in Collagile® dog are obtained through a highly controlled hydrolysis process using enzymatic cleavage, optimized for the extraction of specific bioactive collagen peptides. The product is then purified, concentrated, sterilized, and dried. This ensures consistent, optimal quality.
The following graphic illustrates the manufacturing process.
On the left side of the graphic, you see the starting material, gelatin.
In the middle, you see conventional collagen hydrolysate.
On the right side of the graphic is the end product, our bioactive collagen peptides.
To achieve the same bioactivity with conventional collagen hydrolysate, you would need to consume a significantly higher amount!

Is Collagile® dog tasteless?
Is Collagile® dog tasteless?
No, Collagile® dog has no taste at all. The fine powder cannot be sorted out and can easily be mixed into wet food and, with a little liquid, into dry food.
The powder can also be mixed with cottage cheese, yogurt, liver sausage, etc., which is suitable for dogs fed dry food.
However, do not add the powder to dry food without liquid!
How should Collagile® dog be stored?
How should Collagile® dog be stored?
Collagile® dog does not need to be refrigerated; a cooler room – such as a bedroom – is suitable for storage. Direct sunlight or storage in very warm rooms should be avoided. The product should be protected from moisture.
How long can Collagile® dog be used after opening the can?
How long can Collagile® dog be used after opening the can?
A distinction is made between the best-before date (MHD) and the period after opening (PAO). The best-before date is generally always significantly longer and refers to the unopened product. Once the product has been opened, the period after opening begins, which is usually significantly shorter than the best-before date.
After opening Collagile® dog, the contents of the can should be consumed within 4 months at the latest.
Although products do not automatically become unusable if stored correctly, their quality, efficacy, and safety after exceeding the period after opening can only be proven by appropriate tests, as otherwise liability issues arise. The manufacturer's liability ends in any case on the day of the specified period after opening.
Substances can degrade due to bacterial contamination, oxidation, hydrolysis, and racemization processes. Storage-related problems thus arise due to temperature and humidity exposure, light, and oxygen.
Is Collagile® dog suitable for dogs with allergies?
Is Collagile® dog suitable for dogs with allergies?
Collagile® dog is free from allergens according to the allergen regulation.
Our bioactive collagen peptides are derived from pig skin.
To date, we are not aware of any allergic reactions in animals that are allergic to pork.
This is partly due to the fact that our bioactive collagen peptides are neither meat nor fat.
They are only low-molecular-weight amino acids, i.e. pure protein, which generally cannot trigger allergic reactions.

Are there any side effects with Collagile® dog?
Generally, no. No side effects are known for Collagile® dog.
In very few individual cases, especially at the beginning with higher doses and primarily in animals fed dry food, mild diarrhea has been observed.
In this case, stop administration until everything is back to normal. To allow your animal to get used to it slowly, gradually introduce Collagile® dog starting with a pinch.
Increase the amount successively up to the recommended amount for your animal or up to the point where it is unproblematic for your animal.
And if possible, divide larger amounts into 2 meals.
Soft and/or mushy stool is unproblematic.

Why isn't the can filled to the brim?
Why isn't the can filled to the brim?
There is a plausible technical explanation for this:
When we produce the powder and fill it into the cans, the powder first expands, and the Collagile dog can is filled to approximately 85% during the filling process.
Due to transport and storage, the powder settles again and gradually compresses. In contrast to the moment of filling, the fill level is significantly lower later on.
It is therefore technically necessary to maintain the height of the current Collagile dog can to ensure the stated net content.
Alternatively, the powder could be granulated, which would significantly reduce the compaction of the powder. However, this would require chemical additives, and Collagile would no longer be a purely natural product. Therefore, we refrain from this option to maintain the naturalness of Collagile.
To determine whether the content of your Collagile dog can corresponds to the stated net content, there is the following option:
The packaging, including the measuring spoon and lid, weighs a total of 55g. If you weigh an unopened Collagile dog can on a calibrated scale, the total weight must be at least 280g.
